What does the need to trust in the universe and let go of control actually mean?  It means that you are fearful of the unknown.  You have experienced pain, hurt, sadness, etc, and you would like to not experience that again.  Staying present in the moment is the best answer to this question, and will provide the most relief.  When you try to control your surroundings you are constantly functioning in the future, and so staying present can be very challenging.  There are two schools of thought.  The first one is the thought that everything that happens in our lives is brought to us by what we carry in our vibration.  It is rooted in the Law of Attraction, meaning you get what you put out there from a vibrational stand point.  I like this because it helps me take responsibility for my life, and I like that I can simply look around and see if I need to change what I’m putting out there energetically.  I find it difficult to digest when undesirable things happen.  Even still it holds tremendous value and truth.  The second idea is that life happens.  I believe this to be completely true too.  I don’t know if things in life are predetermined or not, but I do know that there are many things that make for a very challenging and painful existence.  When this happens we then have the choice as to how we choose to move forward.  These two concepts contradict each other a bit, but I believe them both to be important and true.  This brings me full circle to being in the moment.  Practice yoga, meditation, breath work, journaling, etc.  Make a list about what you try to control.  Look at each one and create a pro and con list for trying to control it.  Is it useful?  Does it actually help?  Or are you wasting time and energy doing it?  Pick one topic, only one, and decide to trust in the universe and stay present with it instead of controlling it.  See what happens…
