Experience has taught me that healing rarely moves in a straight line and that the why behind pain or illness is almost never where people expect to find it.
Chinese medicine understood this long ago. The Huangdi Neijing described emotion as something that moves through the body: anger rising in the Liver, grief settling in the Lungs, worry knotting the Spleen… not as metaphor, but as physiology. Unexpressed emotion disrupted the flow of qi, and that disruption showed up as real, physical symptoms: pain, fatigue, tension that seemed to come from nowhere. Modern neuroscience is now mapping that same territory with different tools. Research into Tension Myositis Syndrome (TMS) and Pain Reprocessing Therapy shows that chronic pain is often generated by the nervous system in response to unprocessed emotion, not ongoing tissue damage. Two languages, describing the same truth: what you don't express, your body often will.
The yin/yang symbol is a picture of constant motion, each side already carrying the seed of its opposite. That's what balance actually means in this tradition: not stillness, but everything moving exactly as it's supposed to. This too shall pass isn't just comforting, it's how nature operates. Pain arrives, and pain moves. A pattern set down in childhood can be unwound. Nothing in nature holds still forever, including you.
My work isn't really about diagnosing what's wrong. It's about helping you build awareness of the patterns underneath the symptom, since awareness is the lever that actually changes them. Depending on what you need, that might look like acupuncture, energy work, neurofeedback, guided journaling, or mind-body pain-reprocessing work. There's no fixed protocol. I meet you where you are.
If this sounds different from a typical TCM clinic, it is. I use TCM tools, but I treat through the lens of nervous system re-patterning, grounded in that same ancient understanding that nothing stays fixed. My job is to hold steady space for you, bring some warmth to a process that can be hard, and walk alongside you as your healing compass.
